Toscano Clements Taylor LLC (TCT) is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator II to prepare budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for design and construction projects in New York. You will transform plans into accurate material and labor costs and collaborate with vendors and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred.
• Experience with cost estimating, via internship or prior work.
• Familiarity with estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, E-Takeoff, MII, and Sage.

Responsibilities

• Estimate Development: Analyze construction drawings, documentation, and relevant data to prepare estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor, subject to review by a Senior Estimator.
• Cost Analysis and Monitoring: Track actual costs against initial bids and provide updates as necessary.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Consult with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction personnel to discuss and formulate estimates.
• Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with colleagues, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors about updates and changes.
• Information Gathering & Problem-Solving: Collect information from various sources and elevate issues to supervisors for resolution.

Essential Functions

• Estimate Development: Analyze construction drawings, documentation, and relevant data to prepare accurate estimates for time, cost, materials, and labor, subject to review by a Senior Estimator. Support project management by preparing estimates that align with project goals for planning, scheduling, and organizing work.
• Cost Analysis and Monitoring: Assess cost-effectiveness by tracking actual costs against initial bids throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and adjustments as necessary.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Consult with clients, vendors, internal teams, and construction personnel to discuss and formulate estimates, address project concerns, and resolve issues as they arise.
• Communication: Maintain clear, professional communication with colleagues, clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss updates, changes, and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Information Gathering & Problem‑Solving: Take initiative to collect relevant information from various sources, proactively identify potential challenges, and elevate issues to supervisors for resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management preferred.
• Experience Requirement: Must have some experience working as a cost estimator, demonstrated through an internship or prior work experience.
• Familiarity with Estimating Software: Ability to learn in‑house estimating programs such as On-Screen Takeoff, E-Takeoff, MII, and Sage.
• Problem‑Solving Skills: Excellent problem‑solving abilities, with the capability to analyze complex situations and propose effective solutions.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
• Technology Proficiency: Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and project management purposes.
