Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Cost Estimator in Manhattan, NY to support K-12 project initiatives. You will develop cost estimates, maintain budgets, and analyze drawings to quantify materials and labor for bids and change orders.

The role collaborates with PMs and engineers to ensure delivery within client standards and project timelines. Candidates should have 5+ years of cost engineering/estimating on construction projects, especially MEP or civil work, with strong contract interpretation and

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in engineering or construction field with relevant project exposure.
• Experience reading contracts and construction plans to prepare estimates.
• Ability to derive estimates from drawings, scope, and specs.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with unit-price or cost-control processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost/change controls and budgets.
• Review contractor unit price estimates and prepare new cost estimates.
• Assist in cost analysis, change order estimates, and negotiations.
• Support project managers and analyze drawings to estimate time, material, and labor.
• Maintain documentation, scheduling, RFIs, and process compliance.
