Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cost-focused engineer to guide costing for moderately complex product development. You will set future cost estimates for ROI, provide data to engineering, marketing, and finance, and drive cost reduction through supplier coordination and DFMA principles.

• 3+ years in costing future product, development or cost-related roles.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to read, comprehend and apply engineering specifications and blueprints.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, BOMs, product structures.
• Understanding of value engineering and DFMA principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication and ability to influence leaders.
• Intermediate Excel with knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint and Word.

Requirements

• Degree (B.A. or B.S.) in engineering/industrial technology discipline, finance or a related field
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in costing future product, product development or cost-related positions
• Ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to read, comprehend and apply engineering specifications and blueprints
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, bills of materials, product structures
• Understanding of value engineering and DFMA principles
• Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to team and able to influence leaders
