Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Cost Engineer to support the preconstruction effort on large or multiple projects. You will perform basic estimating tasks, assist in buyouts, and support planning, sales, and preconstruction management.

Role requires collaboration with senior staff, MS Office proficiency, and a four-year engineering degree. LEED accreditation is a plus and may be pursued.

Qualifications

  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Preferred candidates will have obtained LEED accreditation or are willing to obtain.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in buyout phase as needed.
  • Distributes project documents.
  • Maintains/updates estimating databases (e.g. cost, subcontractors, etc.).
  • Performs quantity surveys.
  • Provides administrative support for Preconstruction Department and projects.
  • Solicits subcontractor pricing.
  • Solicits/develops pricing for hard bid and alternate delivery method projects.

As the Cost Engineer your primary duties will include basic estimating tasks and the buyout of projects. You will also participate and/or support other efforts including project planning, sales support, and preconstruction project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in buyout phase as needed.
  • Distributes project documents.
  • Maintains/updates estimating databases (e.g. cost, subcontractors, etc.).
  • Performs quantity surveys.
  • Provides administrative support for Preconstruction Department and projects.
  • Solicits subcontractor pricing.

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Experience: None required, however candidates with estimating experience or those who have completed internships during their educational career may be given preference over candidates with no experience.
  • Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Preferred candidates will have obtained their LEED accreditation, or express willingness to obtain.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
