Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Program cost controls, including budget updating and forecasting.

• Track and reconcile payments, invoices, and commitments.
• Assist in review of contractor claims and support negotiations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports and variance analysis.
• Support implementation of cost control software.

Job description

Haydan Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Cost Engineer, reporting to the Senior Project Manager and working closely with the Cost Manager, to support the Borough-Based Jails (BBJ) Program. The candidate should have knowledge of the construction process and experience on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Program cost controls, including budget updating, forecasting, and earned value tracking.
• Review contractor change orders, schedules of values, and cost proposals.
• Track and reconcile payments, invoices, and commitments at the project and program level.
• Assist in the review of contractor claims and provide support during negotiations.
• Coordinate with schedulers, estimators, and project managers for integrated program reporting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly cost reports, variance analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
• Support weekly and monthly meetings and progress reporting.
• Support the implementation of cost control software within the PMIS.

• Experience on large-scale ($100M+) construction programs; NYC public agency experience (DDC, MTA, SCA, etc.) strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with design-build delivery methods desirable

Rate: $50-$53/Hr.
