The Cheniere Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Project is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) export facility located on the north shore of Corpus Christi Bay in Gregory, Texas. The 1,000+ acre facility started bulk early works in July 2015 as the first greenfield export facility in the United States. Bechtel has successfully and safely completed construction and it now consists of three operating Trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 15 million tons per year (MTPA), three LNG storage tanks with combined capacity of 480,000 cubic meters of LNG, 2 Jetty superstructures that can accommodate the world’s largest vessels, and dozens of associated buildings and utilities.

Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project Stage 3 (CCL3) is a new phase at the existing CCL facility and will consist of seven midscale liquefaction trains with an LNG production capacity of approximately 10 MTPA utilizing and associated infrastructure including utilities. CCL3 will perform all this work predominantly on a direct hire basis with support from only a few specialty and service subcontractors.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed
  • Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports
  • Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines
  • Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts
  • Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty
  • Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions
  • Supports the project trend program
  • Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis at a jobsite location
  • Skilled in oral and written communication
  • Proficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications
  • Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain, for example)
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel
  • Experience on major lump sum projects with direct hire construction strategy is preferred
  • Knowledge of LNG projects and jobsite experience is preferred
  • Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to project team, PC, and other management groups as required

  • Project controls experience in either cost or scheduling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of Power BI
  • Familiarity with large scale LNG projects, particularly along the US Gulf Coast
  • Experience interfacing with the client, including firm knowledge of design and experience with project controls tools and systems being utilized on the program
