Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Cost Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls team supporting Power & Energy programs, including transmission line and substation capital projects.

This role is well suited for a cost controls professional with forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis, and project cost reporting, who enjoys collaborating with project managers, finance teams, schedulers, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in cost controls or project controls on capital projects.
  • Experience forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis, cost reporting, cash flow tracking, and change control.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project cost control processes for Power & Energy projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, cost reports, accruals, commitments, and projections.
  • Track actual costs, commitments, contingency, change orders, invoices, and cost coding.
  • Perform cost variance analysis, trend analysis, and EVM support for leadership.
  • Use PMIS platforms (EcoSys, Procore, Oracle, e-Builder, Autodesk CC) to manage budgets and reports.
  • Produce cost reports, variance summaries, forecasts, and executive dashboards.
  • Support change management, contractor tracking, invoice review, and close-out reporting.
