Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Accounting preferred.
  • 2-5 years of cost control experience in the construction industry preferred.

Position Summary

The primary objective of this role is to implement and maintain procedures, systems, and reports which address project status and forecasts.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a cost/schedule, analyze, appraise, and forecast schedules, cost, estimating, and management information functions.
  • Manage timecards, quantities, cost codes, job cost reports/formatting, processing and reviewing AP/AR, budgets/cost codes, vendor and material invoices coding.
  • Interface with client management and coordinate project control with other related programs and within the core group.
  • Manage subcontractor contracts and payments, and payment applications to the client.
  • Manage the procurement schedule for the project.
  • Work with management on planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractors and internal technical and support staff.
  • Participate in project decisions regarding costs and productivity.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings, site visits, training, etc. Ability to relocate as needed.

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Accounting is preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years cost control experience within construction industry preferred.
