Job Description Summary
The Cost Control Lead supports the Director of the Project Management Organization in creating and maintaining monthly and weekly cost reports across all projects for the GE Nuclear portfolio. Additional focus will be made toward change management, resource needs, monitoring projects’ budgets, cost trends and forecasts, and supporting development of cashflow projections.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Cost Control Lead, you will:

  • Provide direct supervision to a team of cost control specialists.
  • Be responsible for on-time cost control reports, customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources.
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Controls Leaders in organizing project cost structure in business financial tools.
  • Participate in customer, internal, and/or supplier project kickoff meetings and support the project team with preparation & coordination of customer, internal, and/or supplier project controls meetings.
  • Support the development & issuance of the Project Controls Plan; promotes the implementation of project controls procedures across the GEH portfolio.
  • Support the development and deployment of project infrastructure and project tools.
  • Ensure compliance with U. S. government requirements as applicable.
  • Support coordination of project activities; monitor and control progress on project deliverables.
  • Ensure the conformance of project deliverables with contract and project requirements.
  • Lead, draft, and issue project controls management meeting notes, action item lists, and project progress reports.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college -OR- a high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience working on projects (Only direct cost controls experience will be considered).

Eligibility Requirements

  • The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other STEM discipline.
  • Fundamental-level financial or accounting knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability supporting project budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Financial control knowledge and understanding.
  • Demonstrated professional interpersonal and leadership skills, including high level of motivation, integrity, and self-confidence.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Extreme attention to detail, follow up, and highly organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance workload under short deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Proficiency using common project management and project controls tools such as Oracle ERP, Primavera P6, Confluence, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong process orientation in approach to work.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, particularly when related to project execution.

The base pay range for this position is 112K – 140K. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 3/14/25.

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
