Job summary

OHLA USA in Miami, FL is seeking a Cost Control Engineer to support its high-profile heavy civil and marine projects. You will develop budgets, forecasts, and cost reports, track actuals against plans, and help manage subcontractor pay applications and change orders.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering, or Finance, 3–5+ years in cost engineering, advanced Excel, and familiarity with Primavera P6, HCSS, or Procore.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in cost engineering, project controls, or construction finance.
  • Experience in heavy civil, transportation, marine, or infrastructure projects strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced level required).
  • Experience with cost control systems (e.g., Primavera P6, HCSS, Procore) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Track and analyze actual costs vs. planned budgets, identifying variances and risks.
  • Support monthly cost reporting, including earned value analysis and projections.
  • Coordinate with field engineers and superintendents to validate quantity measurements and production rates.
  • Review and validate subcontractor pay applications, change orders, and invoices.
  • Assist in change management processes, including pricing and cost impact analysis.
  • Support estimating efforts including quantity takeoffs, bid pricing, and cost benchmarking for change orders and potential scope changes.
  • Track, verify and maintain accurate cost tracking systems and documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide financial insights and updates.
  • Support procurement and contract administration as needed.]
