Job summary

HunaTek is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to join our on-site team near the Central Florida Research Park in Orlando, FL. The role focuses on comprehensive cost analysis for government clients, including LCCE, ROM, IGCE, and cost studies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cost analyses including LCCE, ROM, IGCE, and ad hoc studies.
  • Develop CARDs and lead program office estimate activities.
  • Lead cost estimation methodologies and maintain cost/affordability models.
  • Collect, normalize, and analyze complex data for budgeting and funding needs.
  • Forecast future funding and evaluate contracting strategies.
  • Prepare briefs for management and oversight on funding requirements.
  • Work autonomously or in teams to meet program goals.
  • Lead in development of briefing materials and data packages.

Job description

HunaTek is seeking a highly motivated, performance-driven individual with strong cost analysis experience to work on-site with our government client in the Central Florida Research Park area. Qualified candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills.

Essential Job Functions

The Senior Cost Analyst position will include, but not be limited to, the following capabilities:

  • Perform the full range of cost analyses in evaluation of client programs, to include life cycle cost estimates (LCCE), Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates, Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCE) and ad hoc cost studies.
  • Develop Cost Analysis Requirements Descriptions (CARDs).
  • Lead and manage program office estimate activities.
  • Lead, develop, update, and apply mathematical and logical methodologies for estimating program costs.
  • Lead, develop, update, manipulate, and maintain cost and affordability models.
  • Lead efforts in collecting, normalizing, and analyzing complex data.
  • Build and defend budget requirements.
  • Forecast future funding needs.
  • Evaluate contracting strategy and courses of action.
  • Conduct planning for acquisition of capabilities.
  • Identify sustainment cost impacts of acquisition decisions.
  • Identify interface maintenance funding requirements for all affected platforms/systems.
  • Manage solution delivery to a baselined schedule.
  • Provide a basis and supporting materials for briefings to management at the executive and oversight levels for all affected program/project funding requirements.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet organizational and project goals.
  • Lead in the preparation of briefing materials and other communications packages presenting the results of analysis.
  • Communicate and work with diverse organizations and representatives for data collection, analysis, and results presentation.
  • Provide thought leadership clearly demonstrating an understanding of the customer mission and innovative ideas to address business challenges of the customer.
Skills And Qualifications Required
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with uncertainty/risk software packages.
  • Knowledge of the Government Acquisition Programs.
  • Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to present analytical results to senior leaders/stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and work with large data sets.
  • Possession of excellent data gathering and analytical skills.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Preferred: Proficiency with Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT), Crystal Ball or SEER for IT.
  • Preferred: Certified Cost Estimator/Analyst (CCEA®) or Professional Cost Estimator/Analyst (PCEA®) certification.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or business).
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience performing cost analyses for DoD, intelligence, or civil agency programs. Prior experience in Navy/Marine Corps sector is preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting Government Acquisition Programs.
  • Preferred: Prior experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Programs (ACAT I-IV).
  • Preferred: Prior financial management and program management experience.
