Job summary

Smith & Loveless, a leader in environmental engineering solutions, seeks a Cost Accounting & Coordinator Manager to partner with the CFO and drive cost control across production, purchasing, engineering, and operations.

You will oversee cost data collection, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and monthly reporting, while mentoring the accounting team and implementing process improvements to sustain profitability.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting or related field; equivalent combinations considered.
• Minimum 3 years accounting and/or manufacturing cost accounting experience.
• ERP experience required; Epicor Kinetic a plus.
• Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Detail-oriented with strong numerical ability.
• Ability to lead a small cost accounting team and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the collection, recording, analysis, and reporting of cost data for production activities.
• Review costing of current and completed/shipped jobs for accuracy.
• Analyze inventory, costing, and variances for monthly financial reporting.
• Review and maintain standard costs.
• Prepare for year-end audit regarding inventory and job costing.
• Implement cost improvements and monitor internal controls.
• Hire, train, and evaluate accounting staff; cross-train as needed.
• Support special projects as requested by CFO.
