Job summary

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases, based in Santa Ana, CA, seeks a Manager, Cost Accounting to own core cost accounting, financial reporting, and POC revenue recognition across long-term contracts. You will partner with operations and project management to drive performance and provide timely financial insights.

The role leads month-end close, variance analysis, and budgeting, develops financial models, ensures US GAAP/IFRS compliance, and supports audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in cost accounting.
• Strong knowledge of POC / ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience with project-based or long-term contracts.
• ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close for cost accounting with accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Lead revenue recognition, including POC accounting for long-term contracts.
• Monitor project financials: cost-to-complete, margins, forecast updates.
• Manage contract assets and contract liabilities (unbilled revenue).
• Collaborate with PMs and operations on cost tracking and revenue recognition.
• Drive cost accounting activities: standard cost updates and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Support budgeting and forecasting at project and company levels.
• Develop financial models for revenue, cost, and cash flow projections.
• Identify and implement process improvements in project accounting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP / IFRS revenue recognition.
• Support audit processes with revenue and contract accounting documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy.
