Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is assisting in the placement of a Cost Accounting Manager in Nashville. The role focuses on owning inventory costing, leading related month-end closes, and delivering meaningful cost analyses across the manufacturing and distribution spectrum.

You will partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve cost visibility, drive process improvements, and support budgeting and strategic planning initiatives with leadership engagement at the highest levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost of goods sold reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close responsibilities related to inventory and cost accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data.
• ERP system experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Process improvement mindset with a track record of enhancing efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Own inventory costing processes and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Lead month-end close activities related to inventory, cost accounting, and COGS reporting.
• Analyze manufacturing and operational variances to provide insights to leadership.
• Prepare and distribute cost accounting and financial reporting packages.
• Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to improve inventory controls and cost visibility.
• Monitor inventory transactions, reserves, standard costs, and reconciliations.
• Drive variance analysis related to labor, material, overhead, and production costs.
• Identify and champion automation and process improvements in accounting.
