Job summary

Terumo Neuro is seeking an experienced cost accounting leader to oversee all costing processes, budgeting and variance analysis for global manufacturing. You will drive standard costing efforts, BOM accuracy, and cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with Manufacturing Operations and IT.

The role requires 8+ years in accounting/finance with cost accounting focus and a strong track record in financial reporting, IFRS knowledge, and cross-functional partnership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in Accounting/Finance with cost accounting focus.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of US IFRS and cost accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost accounting activities and annual product costing process.
• Develop and monitor standard costs, BOMs, and overhead rates.
• Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Produce monthly close activities including inventory valuation and variances.
• Analyze actual vs standard costs and provide management reports.
• Collaborate with IT to resolve ERP costing discrepancies.

Provide leadership and expertise to all Accounting and Finance activities related to cost accounting and Standard Product Cost. Play a strategic role in the development of the Annual Operational Budget and will require superior analytical skills to drive value and promote innovation within the Finance organization. Report to the Director of Financial Planning and have direct interaction with the Manufacturing Supply Chain and Global Manufacturing Operations.

What You'll be Doing

• Provide guidelines for development of the Annual Operations Budget and quarterly forecasting activities.
• Manage annual product costing process to develop accurate standard costs, including Raw Materials, Direct Labor, Scrap Factors and Overhead Rates.
• Define strategies to track and evaluate cost reduction initiatives in conjunction with operations.
• Perform various plant accounting activities related to month-end close, including inventory valuation, manufacturing variances, absorption and spending analysis.
• Partner with Manufacturing Operations to develop and maintain accurate standard costs in conjunction with current and proposed BOM’s.
• Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs for the Organization in the U.S. and offshore manufacturing plants.
• Prepare financial models and analysis to support management decision-making.
• Coordinate with IT on resolving any cost accounting related discrepancies in the ERP system.
• Support procedures to ensure that costing and business practices are in compliance with internal policies, US IFRS, and J-SOX.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent experience.
• Minimum eight (8) years of work experience in Accounting or Finance, with emphasis on cost accounting, reporting, inventory and variance analysis.
• Minimum two (2) years of management experience.
• Excellent MS Office skills; advanced Excel skills required.
• Strong cost accounting, reporting, inventory and variance analysis expertise.
• Deep understanding and business knowledge of cost accounting and US IFRS.
• Superior analytical skills
• Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and project coordination ability with acute attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Successful experience working independently, effectively and confidently in a team environment.
