Job summary

Green Lion Search Group is partnering with a rapidly growing energy technology company to hire a Cost Accounting Lead. This role will establish costing systems and inventory accounting processes behind an expanding manufacturing operation.

You’ll work directly with engineering, supply chain, operations, and finance to improve visibility into production costs and support the company’s next phase of growth. The position offers substantial ownership and meaningful equity participation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, bills of materials, production routings, and US GAAP.
• Experience improving ERP systems and accounting workflows; NetSuite experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to explain accounting issues to operational teams.
• CPA or CMA preferred; energy hardware or complex manufacturing experience is valuable.

Responsibilities

• Develop standard costing for materials, labor, and overhead with clear maintenance processes.
• Partner with operations and engineering on BOMs, routings, item setup, and inventory controls.
• Own inventory valuation, reserves, capitalization policies, and month-end reconciliations.
• Investigate variances and recommend operational improvements.
• Coordinate physical counts, ERP adjustments, and accounting for equipment installations and returns.

You’ll work directly with engineering, supply chain, operations, and finance to improve visibility into production costs and support the company’s next phase of growth. Responsibilities

• Develop standard costing for materials, labor, and overhead, with clear processes for maintaining accurate costs.
• Partner with operations and engineering on bills of materials, production routings, item setup, and inventory controls.
• Own inventory valuation, reserves, capitalization policies, and related month-end reconciliations.
• Investigate purchasing and production variances, identify underlying issues, and recommend operational improvements.
• Coordinate physical inventory counts and ERP adjustments, and support accounting for equipment installations, replacements, and returns.

Ideal Background

• 7+ years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience, including ownership of standard costing and experience leading people and processes.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, bills of materials, production routings, and US GAAP.
• Experience improving ERP systems and accounting workflows; NetSuite experience is preferred.
