Job summary

Jobster LLC in Kansas City, MO seeks a detail-oriented Cost Accounting Analyst to support cost accounting, inventory, budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing setting. You will focus on standard costing, variance analysis, financial modeling, and reporting, partnering with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance.

The role emphasizes cost control, ERP data accuracy, cycle counts, and cross-functional insight to drive improvements and informed business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Experience in cost accounting, manufacturing finance, or related field.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead and analyze manufacturing variances.
  • Manage inventory accounting, including valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and inventory analysis.
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle count programs.
  • Analyze product costs and identify cost-saving opportunities with Operations and Supply Chain teams.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling.
  • Perform product cost, pricing, and margin analysis for existing and new products.
  • Prepare financial reports, analyze variances, and provide actionable business insights.
  • Improve reporting processes and maintain data accuracy through ERP systems and collaboration with IT.

Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite. After training, there may be an option to work from home one day per week.

Salary: $80,000 to $105,000 annually

Role Overview

Seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accounting Analyst to support cost accounting and financial planning in a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on standard costing, inventory accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and financial reporting.

The position works closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance to analyze costs, identify improvement opportunities, and provide insights that support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
