Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. in Fort Payne, AL, is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision support for the Large Generators unit.

The role involves budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and collaboration with cross-functional leaders to drive informed decisions. You will work with SAP, Power BI, and Hyperion to enhance reporting and governance, while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 5+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP FI/CO, Hyperion, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and financial controlling for the Fort Payne Plant, including project and product cost controlling, material cost controlling, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory management, and financial reporting for assigned projects and product portfolios.
  • Develop transfer pricing models, monitor financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and perform variance analysis by comparing budget, forecast, and actual results while providing insights to management.
  • Partner with Technical Order Managers, Planning, Procurement, Operations, and Finance to support product cost controlling, forecasting activities, and ensure accurate financial records in compliance with policies.
  • Lead inventory financial management by analyzing raw material inventory, work-in-process, inventory reserves, and other key metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimizing financial processes, reporting capabilities, and supporting special projects and ad hoc analyses.
  • Champion digital transformation by implementing modern reporting tools, supporting digitalization initiatives, training end users, and promoting data-driven decision-making.

A Snapshot of Your Day (Position Overview)

As a Financial Analyst supporting the Large Generators business unit, you will play a key role in providing financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision support to help achieve the organization's operational and financial objectives.

Your day may include developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing business performance, preparing executive financial reports, building financial models, and partnering with business leaders to drive informed decision-making.

You will collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders to improve financial processes, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and deliver meaningful insights that support business performance.

This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic initiatives while strengthening financial governance and operational excellence across the organization.

How You'll Make An Impact (Responsibilities)

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing financial processes, enhancing reporting capabilities, supporting special projects and ad hoc analyses, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and controls
  • Champion the digital transformation of the controlling organization by implementing modern reporting tools, supporting digitalization initiatives, training end users, and promoting data-driven financial decision-making
What You Bring (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, financial reporting, or a related finance role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, corporate finance, GAAP, internal controls, business performance analysis, and management reporting
  • Experience working with SAP, Power BI, accounting systems, and data visualization tools, with the ability to independently manage complex financial analyses, forecasting activities, and reporting processes
  • Advanced knowledge of FI/CO transactions and procedures in SAP ERP and Hyperion
  • Strong analytical, business acumen, accountability, communication, and process improvement skills with the ability to influence business decisions and collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and leadership teams.
