Job summary

Santa Barbara Honda in Ohio is seeking an entry-level Cost Accountant to develop cost per unit for current models, and to support pricing decisions with timely financial analysis.

You’ll work with department and accounting management, produce sales and materials analysis, and prepare pricing quotes under supervision. A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or an associate with 2 years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, OR associates degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting-related job.
• Minimum Experience: 0-2 years with a bachelor degree, 2 years minimum with associates degree.
• Strong GAAP/IFRS understanding and cost accounting background.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and accounting terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly close related to sales and materials, presenting results to management.
• Conduct sales and materials analysis for six budget events per year.
• Create sales breakdowns and profit analyses with supervision.
• Prepare parts and unit pricing quotes with supervision.
• Analyze material usage and price variances with supervision.

Job Purpose

This role requires associates to use their professional knowledge to accurately develop cost per unit of current models which impact the sales price for that model.

This role is usually working with department management and presenting information to accounting management. This is an entry level role that is supervised and does not have significant discretion in autonomous decision making.

Key Accountabilities

Performing monthly closing responsibilities related to sales and materials and presenting results to management. Performing sales and materials analysis for six budget events each year and presenting results to management. Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to create sales breakdowns and profit analysis with some supervision. Preparing parts and unit pricing quotes with some supervision. Performing Analysis of material usage and sales price variances with some supervision.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance, OR associates degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in an accountingrelated job. Minimum Experience: 0-2 years with a bachelor degree, 2 years minimum with associates degree. Other Job-Specific Skills: Basic Accounting principles - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cost Accounting background. General understanding of accounting functions, terminology and ability to apply accounting concepts. Strong analytical, problem solving, presentation and organizational skills. Strong Microsoft product skills (Excel, Powerpoint, etc). SAP Knowledge and skills.

Working Conditions

Office/Hybrid remote. 2-5 hours of OT/week. Some travel.
