Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Leeds, AL is seeking a Cost Accountant to join the Finance team. You will manage standard costs, month-end closing, reporting, and internal controls to ensure accurate cost management for manufactured products.

You will work with SAP for BOMs and routings, perform variance analysis, assist audits, and help maintain cost data. Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential; a 1–3 year SAP cost accounting background in manufacturing is preferred.

• 1-3 years cost accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Strong analytical, planning and communication skills.
• Proficient in SAP, Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Monthly closing and reporting processes.
• Variance analysis including PPV, freight, material usage, labor, and overhead.
• Work with Bill of Materials and Product Routings in SAP.
• Assist internal and external audits.
• Update standard product costs for labor, material and overhead.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
• Support for department spending analysis and forecasts.
• Provide ad hoc financial information on request.

Job Overview

Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member of the Finance team and have responsibility for a variety costing and inventory activities. This position is principally responsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month end closing activities, reporting and controls.

A Day In The Life

• Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.
• Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.
• Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production
  order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances.
• Providing analysis and support to Internal and External Audits of the businesses.
• Reviewing, analyzing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labor, material and overhead.
• Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences.
• Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts.
• Support for internal and external audit activities.
• Complete ad hoc financial information requests.
• Performs other related work as assigned.
