Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Leeds, AL is seeking a Cost Accountant who will maintain standard costs, assist month-end close and support inventory controls as part of the Finance team. Reporting to the Cost Manager, you will work with SAP for BOMs and routings, perform variance analysis, audits, and cost reviews, while developing strong analytical and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Monthly closing and reporting process using financial systems.
• Work with Bill of Materials and Product Routings in SAP.
• Assist in monthly variance analysis including PPV, freight, material usage.
• Provide analysis for internal and external audits.
• Review/update standard product costs for labor, materials and overhead.
• Assist with cycle counts and inventories and reconcile differences.
• Support department spending analysis and budgeting.
• Complete ad hoc financial information requests.
• Perform other related work as assigned.

Job Overview

Based in Leeds, AL and reporting directly to the Cost Manager, the Cost Accountant will serve as a key member ofthe Finance team and have responsibility for a variety costing and inventory activities. This position is principallyresponsible for the ongoing maintenance of standard costs, month end closing activities, reporting and controls.

A Day In The Life

• Monthly closing and reporting process, using financial reporting systems.
• Working with Bill of Materials and Product Routings through SAP system.
• Assist in monthly variance analysis including, but not limited to, PPV, freight, material usage, production order, labor, and burden (overhead) variances.
• Providing analysis and support to Internal and External Audits of the businesses.
• Reviewing, analyzing and updating standard product costs as they relate to labor, material and overhead.
• Assist in cycle counts and physical inventories and reconcile all differences.
• Assisting with department spending analysis and facility budgets and forecasts.
• Support for internal and external audit activities.
• Complete ad hoc financial information requests.
• Performs other related work as assigned.
