Job summary

Roesseljoy seeks an experienced cost accountant to manage manufacturing cost accounting, analyze variances to standard costs, and maintain standard cost data. You will ensure FIFO inventory valuation accuracy and assist with month-end close.

You will also prepare cost of sales entries, support audits, and respond to internal requests for ad hoc analyses. BS in Accounting with 5+ years manufacturing experience is required, along with advanced Excel skills and ERP experience.

• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and month-end close.
• Detail-oriented with ability to explain variances, not just report numbers.

Responsibilities

• Cost accounting for manufacturing: cost of materials, labor, and overhead.
• Prepare monthly cost of sales, analyze variances vs standard costs.
• Maintain standard cost data and FIFO inventory valuation accuracy.
• Book monthly cost of sales and scrap journal entries.
• Support audits and handle ad hoc analysis requests.

• Build and maintain standard cost data and keep FIFO inventory valuation accurate

Requirements:

• BS with 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  
• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, BOMs, and month-end close
  
• Advanced Excel skills
  
• Great Plains and/or SAP experience is a plus
  
• Detail-oriented, and able to explain why the numbers moved, not only report them
