Job summary

Enovis is seeking a Cost Accountant to join its Finance team in Texas offices. The role focuses on month-end close related to manufacturing costs, standard cost maintenance, inventory valuation, and cost analyses to support decision-making.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 5+ years of accounting with cost accounting experience, strong ERP experience (Netsuite or Oracle), excellent Excel skills, and GAAP knowledge. Onsite/hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; medical manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with 3+ years in cost accounting preferred.
  • Hands-on ERP experience with Netsuite and/or Oracle.
  • 3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and professional judgment.
  • English proficiency at an advanced level.

Responsibilities

  • Perform month-end close activities for cost accounting.
  • Prepare analyses on manufacturing costs, inventory, and expenses for decision support.
  • Set up and review raw materials, WIP, and finished goods costs and bill of materials.
  • Analyze design/material changes and their impact on costs; compare standard vs actual costs.
  • Record cost information to control expenditures and assist budgeting.
  • Provide management with reports on factors affecting prices and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain standard costs in the ERP system.
  • Maintain controls around manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Coordinate with inventory control, production, and work orders for ERP validity.
  • Participate in policies, procedures, and internal controls improvements.
  • Represent Finance on cross-functional teams to reduce costs.

Job Title / High‑Level Position Summary

Cost Accountant

Reports To: Director, Finance

Location: This position may be based at any of the following Enovis locations:

  • Austin, Texas
  • Houston, Texas
  • Lewisville, Texas

Candidates must be able to work from one of these office locations in accordance with the role’s onsite/hybrid work requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform month‑end close activities related to cost accounting.
  • Prepare various financial analyses related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information as needed for decision‑making support.
  • Review and set up new raw‑material, packaging, WIP (work in progress), and FG (finished good) items; review Production BOMs and routers; maintain periodic cost rolls and updates.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs; analyze actual production costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
  • Prepare estimates of new and proposed product or service costs.
  • Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
  • Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in a worldwide ERP system.
  • Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
  • Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing.
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
  • Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations and reduce costs.
Minimum Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; medical manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
  • Hands‑on ERP experience – Netsuite and/or Oracle preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, 3+ years in cost accounting preferred.
  • 3+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions.
  • English level: Advanced.
  • Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts.
  • Extremely strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes.
  • CMA, CPCA or CCA preferred.
