Job summary

Haynes International, Inc. in Arcadia, LA, seeks an Inventory Cost Accountant to track product inventory and support production reporting for Tubular Division. The role emphasizes accountability to Arcadia facility and corporate deadlines.

You will perform cost analysis, month-end close, and reconcile general ledger entries while assisting the Quality and Production Planning departments as needed. This is a short-term replacement in key duties as described.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Business or Accounting required.
• 1+ year manufacturing experience; inventory control/accountability.
• Proficiency with Excel; AX Dynamics or similar ERP experience.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; multitasking capability.
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger tasks.

Responsibilities

• Routine product costing for Tubing and Fittings products.
• Sales reporting and cost of goods sold reconciliation for monthly close.
• Inventory tracking and accountability duties.
• Cross-train on AX and shopfloor transactions and other accounting duties.
• Assist with annual physical inventories and SOX/audit requests.
• Support quality and production planning departments as needed.
• Maintain accurate GL entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.

Accountability includes meeting Arcadia Facility requirements as well as corporate requirements and deadlines in such a manner as to contribute to the Company business plan. Review GL activity, consolidate information, and prepare reporting requirements timely. Provide support to the Quality and Production Planning departments as needed. Serve as a short-term replacement in the absence of the Accounting Specialist in all capacities, and the Finance Manager in key duties.

Experience:

Microsoft Applications specifically including Excel (R) Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar experience (P)

1+ Year Manufacturing Experience (P) Inventory Control/Accountability (P)

1+ Year Month End Close, General Ledger experience (P)

Areas of Knowledge:

Role Responsibilities:

• Routine Product Costing for Tubing and Fittings Products
• Sales Reporting and Cost of Goods Sold - Reconcile for daily and monthly closing and reporting
• Product Returns coordinator and sales contact
• Responsible for labor for Shopfloor systems including weekly and month-end reconciliation for both temporary personnel
• Review conversion invoices and receipts -- checking for reasonableness and ensuring proper procedures are followed
• Cross-train on AX and Shopfloor transactions and other duties of the Accounting Specialist
• Cross-train to learn WIP and Production Variance analysis and annual department budgets
• Assist with annual physical inventories
• Assist with SOX and audit requests
• Assist with other analysis and reporting as needed
• Member of the Internal Audit Team for Arcadia Tubular Facility Process Audits
• General ledger, Trial Balance, Journal Entries knowledge
• Adhere to month end close cycle (5 business days)
