Job summary

Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) is seeking a skilled professional to support both the instructional lab environment and administrative operations of the Cosmetology program.

This position provides high-quality, learner-centered lab assistance while coordinating departmental operations, customer service functions, and daily administrative activities in alignment with the college’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Current Cosmetology License.
• Kansas Cosmetology Instructor License.
• Minimum of three (3) years of cosmetology industry experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years in office management/administrative coordination.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily lab activities and ensure proper lab setup and cleanup.
• Provide technical guidance in cosmetology tasks (esthetics, hair cutting, coloring).
• Supervise students in classroom, lab, and off-site environments.
• Enforce safety and pollution prevention requirements.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials; assist with repairs and upgrades.
