Job summary

Southern Careers Institute in San Antonio, TX seeks a dedicated Cosmetology Instructor to deliver and develop certified cosmetology programs. The role requires a Cosmetology Instructor License and preferably at least one year of post-secondary teaching experience. Strong Nail Technician experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and apply knowledge of the teaching field and discipline.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Prepare lesson plans and teach courses per the curriculum.
• Encourage development of communication and higher-order thinking skills.
• Act as liaison between the school and regulatory bodies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and apply a thorough and accurate knowledge of the teaching field and discipline;
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning. Practice excellence in teaching and instruction;
• Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs;
• Prepare lesson plans and teach courses as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum;
• Encourage the development of communication skills and higher order thinking skills through appropriate assignments;
• Act as Liaison between the school and TDLR;
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Requirements

• Cosmetology Instructor License (required);
• Prior post-secondary related teaching experience of at least 1 year in subject matter is highly preferred;
• Strong Nail Technician experience.
