Job summary

Georgia Northwestern Technical College is seeking a qualified Cosmetology Instructor to be located on the Floyd County Campus. The instructor will travel to other campuses as needed and report to the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies.

The role requires on-campus presence with no telework option. The candidate will design courses, prepare lesson plans, evaluate progress, manage supplies and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Cosmetology from an accredited private or post-secondary teaching institution.
• Current Georgia Master Cosmetology License.
• Full time teaching experience in the field; five of the last seven years in the field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives.
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses.
• Evaluates students’ progress and maintains required documentation and reports.
• Ensures safety and security requirements in the training area.
• Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts.
• Other duties as assigned.

This position will report to the Dean of Business and Public Service Technologies. The instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the program.
