Job summary

Drybar Union Square seeks a Shop Educator to lead training, coaching, and development for our busy blowout team in San Francisco. You will balance chair time with training, recruitment, and driving a strong client experience.

You will train, coach, and onboard stylists, monitor progress, and lead school outreach to build a pipeline of talent while promoting a strong sales culture and high standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid California cosmetology license.
• Strong styling and finishing skills with excellent communication, organization and follow-through.
• Passion for teaching and developing people and leading others.

Responsibilities

• Train and onboard newly hired stylists on Drybar techniques and service standards.
• Monitor trainee performance and ensure consistency and growth.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with new hires and track progress.
• Lead 30/60/90-day check-ins and set goals.
• Identify stylists needing additional education or hands-on support.
• Build relationships with local cosmetology schools for recruitment pipelines.
• Engage in school outreach and recruitment events.

We’re looking for a motivated, results-driven Shop Educator to help develop our team at our Union Square location.

As a Shop Educator, you’ll balance working behind the chair with training, coaching, recruitment, sales, and team development.

What You’ll Do

• Train and onboard newly hired stylists on Drybar techniques, service standards, timing expectations, and client experience.
• Continue monitoring trainee performance after initial training to ensure consistency and continued development.
• Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions with new hires to recognize successes and address areas of improvement.
• Monitor and participate in 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with new hires, establishing goals and following up on progress.
• Identify stylists who need additional education, coaching, or hands-on support.
• Build relationships with local cosmetology and beauty schools to create recruitment opportunities and a strong pipeline of future stylists.
• Participate in school outreach, recruiting events, and communication with upcoming graduates.
• Help create a strong sales culture by coaching the team on memberships, retail, add-ons, rebooking, and overall client experience.
• Lead by example and demonstrate the performance, professionalism, and accountability expected from the team.
• Provide weekly updates to upper management regarding trainee progress, areas of opportunity, training goals, team development, and sales performance.
• Partner with shop and regional leadership to ensure training priorities support overall business goals.

WHAT YOU CAN EARN

Our Stylists/Leads have the opportunity to earn up to $40+ per hour in total compensation, including base pay, tips, and bonuses.*

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring a valid Califroniacosmetology license, strong styling and finishing skills, excellent communication, organization, and follow-through.

Most importantly, you have a passion for teaching and developing people. You’re comfortable providing constructive feedback, holding others accountable, being in a fast paced & problem solving environement, celebrating wins, and stepping in when additional coaching is needed.
