Job summary

The Estée Lauder Companies is seeking a Microbiology Technician to perform microbial testing on cosmetics materials in a fast-paced R&D lab in New York. You will support scientists with sample prep, plating, enumeration, and data recording while ensuring compliance with GMP and SOPs.

Work involves handling Biosafety level 2 organisms, close collaboration with research teams, and meticulous documentation to uphold data integrity and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of lab experience.
• Associate’s Degree in Microbiology, Chemistry or Biology.
• Able to work in a high-volume, fast-paced lab with agility for change.
• Proficient in Windows-based software.
• Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Excellent time management.

Responsibilities

• Support scientists in microbiological studies, including sample prep, plating, dilution, and enumeration.
• Prepare equipment, glassware, and supplies for experiments.
• Perform media preparation and labeling of test tubes and dishes.
• Conduct challenge tests to assess preservation in samples.
• Document results and deviations with data integrity standards.
• Maintain inventory and ensure traceability of materials.
