Job summary

United Aesthetics Alliance is hiring a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit for cosmetic surgery patients at Edina Surgery Center. You will support comfort, safety, and discharge readiness while collaborating with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the surgical team.

The role emphasizes patient safety, compassionate communication, and ongoing professional development in a fast-paced, daytime surgical setting with no evenings or major holidays.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license.
• Current CPR and ACLS certification.
• Strong assessment skills and ability to respond effectively in emergent situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Preferred PACU or ICU nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Ambulatory surgery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
• Admit patients to recovery, receive hand-off from anesthesia, and monitor the patient’s condition throughout recovery.
• Assess and monitor vital signs, dressings, IVs, drains, and overall recovery needs.
• Evaluate patient readiness for discharge and provide recovery instructions.
• Ease patient anxiety, provide reassurance, and respect each patient’s dignity and privacy.
• Support communication with patients’ families in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and surgical staff to ensure seamless care.
• Respond to urgent situations, including initiating and maintaining CPR when necessary.
• Maintain readiness of the recovery area, including equipment and supplies.
• Participate in Quality Management and Performance Improvement programs.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and physician directions.
• Engage in continuing education and attend center meetings to maintain competency.
