Job summary

Twin Cities Pain Clinic in Maplewood, MN is seeking a Surgical Admission Unit / Post Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse. This 0.8 FTE, non-exempt role requires MN RN licensure, ACLS/BLS, and ASC experience to support ambulatory surgery operations.

The RN will coordinate pre-op to post-procedure care, supervise nursing staff, provide patient teaching, and help achieve ASC goals. Cross-training across pre-procedure, intra-procedure, and recovery areas is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing is required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• Current Minnesota license as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
• ACLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
• At least one year of RN clinical experience in an ambulatory surgical center.

Responsibilities

• Establishes courteous relations with patients and users of the ASC.
• Oversees nursing practice in the ASC and plans care using nursing process.
• Directs other caregivers in patient care.
• Reports variances from standard practice to Nurse Manager.
• Provides pre-operative teaching and explains surgical routines.
• Processes patients through the ASC.
• Administers medications, applies dressings, and monitors vitals.
• Assesses staff skills and resource availability to meet outcomes.
• Participates in ASC goals and mission.
