Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II to perform cosmetic inspections and advanced reconditioning tasks. You will ensure vehicles meet CarMax quality and appearance standards, delivering customer-ready vehicles with confidence.

The role involves performing paint touch-up, wet sanding, buffing, and final quality checks in a fast-paced environment, with physical duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Completion of CarMax training programs (online and hands-on).
• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately for inventory and quality control.
• Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills for customers and team members.
• Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform standardized cosmetic reconditioning processes at a set pace.
• Execute advanced cosmetic repairs (paint touch-up, wet sanding, buffing).
• Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections for customer-ready vehicles.
• Identify defects and determine best repair methods for quality results.
• Support auction preparation and vehicle movement on/off the lot.
• Deliver excellent customer service and collaborate with the team.
