Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in cosmetic or formulation chemistry. The appointment begins Fall 2027 and follows a Teacher-Scholar model emphasizing teaching, research, and service.

The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in organic or analytical chemistry; establish an active student‑engaged research program; and contribute to curriculum development and outreach in a diverse learning environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field (or expected completion by start of appointment).
• Demonstrated excellence or potential in teaching and course development.
• Evidence of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Potential to build a productive research program involving students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses in organic or analytical chemistry, including course design and assessment.
• Mentor and advise students at all levels, fostering inclusive learning environments.
• Establish an active research program that engages undergraduate and Master’s‑level students.
• Contribute to departmental and institutional service activities, including curriculum development and community outreach.
