Job Details

Position Objective: To assist customers in their shopping experience by processing sales transactions efficiently, friendly, and courteously.

Reporting Structure: Reports to Office Manager.

Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential Knowledge:

• A valid liquor license must be obtained prior to the first day (if applicable).
• Completion of ongoing training as per Cosentino's Learning Plan.

Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Responsibilities:

• Process various payment methods accurately, including cash, checks, gift cards, credit/debit cards, coupons, etc.
• Follow procedures for government assistance transactions.
• Issue receipts and correct change.
• Operate cash registers, scanners, check verification, and intercom systems.
• Properly bag items to reduce damage and maximize efficiency.
• Maintain a clean and professional front end appearance.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
• Adhere to customer service standards and health/safety regulations.
• Know store items, policies, and procedures to assist customers effectively.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely.
• Meet productivity standards and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
• Understand and comply with regulations on weights, measures, and government programs.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Train new cashiers if directed.
• Suggest additional products to promote sales.
• Restock returned items.
• Support other tasks and departments as needed.

Physical Abilities

Essential: Reaching, twisting, lifting up to 10 lbs, pushing carts, standing/walking long periods, occasional lifting up to 30 lbs, bending/squatting.
