Description

Position Objective: To produce, execute, and deliver outstanding prepared foods in freshness, taste, quality, and presentation in a timely and efficient manner. Assist in all aspects of the deli to ensure a Deli team that delivers the product and service customers expect.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Deli Manager.

Status: Non-exempt position.

Knowledge

The following are certification, education, or training requirements:

  • Food handling permit within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Completion of ongoing training per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
  • At least one year of previous cooking experience in a deli, bakery, catering, or banquet operation.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in deli or food service production.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation guidelines.

Preferred but not required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills & Responsibilities

  • Developing menu items with management.
  • Practicing portion control and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintaining quality control in all deli areas.

Physical Abilities

Employees should be able to:

  • Reach overhead, twist, lift up to 20 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for long periods.
  • Bend, squat, and work in cold environments.
