Position: Culinary Arts Teacher

In Montezuma-Cortez SD RE-1, Cortez, Colorado. This role is part of the Montezuma-Cortez School District’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and community engagement.

Essential Duties
  • Create an effective and engaging learning environment that aligns with school-wide values.
  • Utilize effective teaching practices to teach curriculum for assigned grades and subjects, ensuring mastery of student grade-level standards.
  • Develop and teach standards-based lessons with rigorous instruction aligned to district curriculum.
  • Actively participate in weekly teacher-led professional learning communities at both grade-level and content-level.
  • Use data from formative, interim, and benchmark assessments to evaluate progress and adjust instruction to ensure target growth.
  • Maintain an orderly, positive learning environment and implement proactive classroom management strategies.
  • Communicate proactively with parents and guardians as partners in student goals.
  • Support social-emotional development and whole-child growth.
  • Comply with applicable State, Federal laws, and district policies.
  • Knowledge of business development, management, and entrepreneurship.
  • Manage and oversee the CTSO program.
  • Design and implement a standards-aligned curriculum including classroom, field-based, and experiential learning.
  • Assume responsibility for student safety and discipline during supervision.
