Job summary

A manufacturing company in De Pere, Wisconsin, is seeking a self-motivated individual for a machine operations role. Responsibilities include monitoring machine performance, reporting issues, and ensuring safety standards. Qualifications

  • Previous machine operations experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe working environment and adhere to policies.
  • Check production needs and report issues to the Operations Manager.
  • Assist in machine setup, troubleshooting, and cleaning.
  • Sets up and adjusts glue machine; prepares rolls and places them based on production schedule.
  • Operates ruler to verify dimensions on corrugated board; troubleshoots machine issues and suggests improvements.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly; participates in other tasks as assigned.

Job description

Description
  • Works safely and follows all related policies and programs to assure a safe working environment.
  • Responsible for correct reporting of time, production and material usage.
  • Checks paper on hand against what is needed for each production run to ensure shortages are prevented
  • Reports irregularities, maintenance needs and quality problems to the Team Operations Manager
  • Assists crew in startup, running, changing over and cleaning up the machine
  • Setting up and adjusting glue machine
  • Preparing rolls for roll stands and proper placement based on production schedule
  • Bring rolls from storage area to machine using roll clamp truck
  • Using a computer system, sets stacker controls including length, stack count, etc.
  • Monitor adhesive system for proper operation and quality
  • Monitor and maintain plant scrap baler system
  • Using a ruler, verify dimensions on corrugated board to ensure a quality product
  • Troubleshoots machine issues and make recommendations on improving the process
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly
  • Other job tasks and projects as assigned

This position requires a self-motivated individual willing to work safely in a team based system. They need to have the ability to schedule their work, prioritize their work load, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must. A desire for continuous improvement and quality workmanship are required to meet our customers increasing demands.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous machine operations experience in manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates must be able to work all shifts including rotating and/or straight night shift. Overtime including weekends will be required.
  • Good human relations skills and strong verbal communication skills are required.
  • Work as a team to accomplish daily tasks.
