Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard is seeking a Strapper to safely operate and monitor an automatic strapping system, ensuring finished corrugated products are properly bundled and inspection-ready for shipment. The role supports machine operators, conducts quality checks, clears minor jams, and maintains a clean, safe work area in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with changeovers, maintaining accurate production counts, and following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing or production preferred.
• Corrugated packaging experience is a plus.
• Experience around automated production equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automatic strapping equipment during production.
• Verify bundles meet customer specs for quantity and quality.
• Ensure bundles are squared and secured before palletizing or shipment.
• Replace strapping material and consumables to minimize downtime.
• Identify and clear minor jams and notify maintenance when needed.
• Keep production area clean and organized according to 5S requirements.
• Assist with changeovers, setup, and general production support.
• Perform visual quality inspections and report defects immediately.
