Summary

This role involves applying corrosion knowledge to repair, install, troubleshoot, analyze, and perform maintenance on equipment, facilities, systems, and devices within gas and liquid pipelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform successfully, individuals must be able to fulfill each duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities include:

  • Design, install, operate, inspect, and maintain cathodic protection systems in compliance with procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and complete documentation (OSHA, DOT, EPA).
  • Investigate and analyze corrosive conditions, ensure corrosion control compliance, and perform surveys and tests.
  • Evaluate coating conditions, perform repairs, and analyze pipe anomalies.
  • Understand pipeline internal corrosion and mitigation measures, including testing and chemical calculations.
  • Design cathodic protection systems, generate reports, and maintain records.
  • Install and repair rectifiers, anodes, bonds, and perform efficiency calculations.
  • Assess effects of stray currents and interpret pipeline maps and as-builts.
  • Operate safety equipment and ensure work areas are maintained safely.
  • Communicate with team members, train others, and participate in audits and safety programs.
  • Inspect welds and comply with safety policies and procedures, including performing LOTO procedures.
Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Varies by level (C: 0-2 years, B: 2-4 years, A: 4+ years).

Required: Valid driver's license, proficiency with MS Office, ability to train others.

Preferred: AAS in Corrosion Technology, NACE certifications, welding qualifications.

Working Conditions

Includes exposure to weather, confined spaces, physical activity, emergency call-outs, industrial hazards, and occasional travel. Reliable attendance required.
