Job summary

The State of Delaware is seeking a Correctional Officer/Stores Warehouse Supervisor to oversee central supply warehouse operations and ensure accurate inventory control. You will manage receiving, storage, issuing of diverse items, and supervise inmate workers in storekeeping tasks.

Applicants should have prior correctional or equivalent experience with inventory management skills and a working knowledge of automated information systems.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience as a Correctional Officer or equivalent.
• Six months experience in inventory management and distribution.
• Six months experience in inventory control, such as ordering, receiving, tracking, storing and handling inventory.
• Six months experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
• Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through coursework or lead worker roles; OR supervising staff.
• Possession of a valid CDL Class A OR B Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stores, and issues supplies, clothing, equipment, perishable foods, frozen goods and hazardous materials.
• Maintains records of supply transactions.
• Verifies that supplies, clothing, equipment, perishable foods, frozen goods and hazardous materials received are listed on requisitions and invoices.
• Checks supplies, clothing, equipment, perishable foods, frozen goods and hazardous materials in order to maintain proper stock levels.
• Maintains physical inventory of goods.
• Fills out supply forms such as requisitions, issue slips and receipt documents.
• Delivers supplies to various institutional facilities or areas.
• Trains and supervises inmates in storekeeping procedures and assigns work.
