Job summary

Alpharus Health seeks a Substance Use Counselor in Kincheloe, MI. You will deliver evidence-based group and individual therapy to correctional populations, conduct intake and assessments, and assist with discharge planning under MDOC contracts.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with two years’ experience or a Master’s with one year, Michigan licensure/certification, and the ability to work evenings; salary ranges $22–$30 per hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum of two years’ experience or Master’s with minimum of one year.
• Experience in substance abuse field with counseling, assessment, treatment planning and group therapy.
• Clinical licensure and/or Certification in Michigan or ability to obtain within timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provides group orientation, intake, assessments and discharge planning per MDOC contract.
• Documents treatment progress and maintains related records and charts.
• Delivers evidence-based group therapy for up to 15 offenders per group.
• Supports reporting and adherence to MDOC policies and procedures.
• Navigate between internal EHR and MDOC systems for reporting.
