Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with two years in correctional security or law enforcement, including one year in a leadership role.
• Satisfaction of minimum qualifications does not guarantee automatic progression within the job series; advancement considered by department and Office of Personnel Management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct correctional officers, assign work, and review performance.
• Maintain safety and security by conducting inspections, shakedowns, and searches.
• Enforce policies and procedures for staff and inmates; respond to emergencies and incidents.
• Investigate incidents and prepare detailed incident and security reports.
• Coordinate inmate transportation to medical appointments, court appearances, and other facilities.
• Provide guidance to officers and participate in shift briefings.
