Bureau of Prisons / Federal Prison System is seeking Corrections safety specialists to ensure a humane and secure environment and promote public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Qualifications focus on safety and occupational health education and experience. The role covers applying standards and conducting hazard analyses within federal facilities, with entry at GL-07 or GL-09 levels depending on education and experience.

Formación

• Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study in safety or occupational health or related fields with 24 semester hours in related disciplines.
• GL-07 requires 1 full year of graduate education or Superior Academic Achievement.
• GL-09 requires a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 years of progressive graduate study, or LL.B/J.D. if related.

Responsabilidades

• Participate as a member of a survey or inspection team and apply hazard identification techniques.
• Attend and observe closing sessions where violations of standards are discussed with management.
• Study past inspection records to understand the application of standards to unsafe acts or conditions.
