Job summary
The State of Washington's Airway Heights Corrections Center invites applications for a Registered Nurse 2 (RN2). This role provides nursing services in a correctional setting, with responsibilities including assessing patients, developing care plans, and coordinating care with the health services team.
The position offers shift differentials and a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible candidates hold a WA RN license (or compact) and have at least one year of RN experience, with CPR training
Qualifications
- Current Washington State RN license or valid multi-state license
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- AHA/Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- Proficient with computer-based systems for scheduling, charting, and communication
- Ability to work independently in a correctional setting
Responsibilities
- Practice nursing safely in a correctional setting within state laws and rules
- Assess, monitor, and interpret patient data
- Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes; plan delivery of care
- Direct and supervise tasks to other nursing staff as appropriate
- Communicate with incarcerated individuals, families, and health care personnel
- Provide competent nursing services including vital signs, medications, and procedures
- Establish professional relationships with patients while maintaining boundaries
- Participate in Health Services team activities and quality improvement
