Job summary

Staff Today Inc. in Columbia, SC is seeking aRegistered Nurse (RN) for a correctional setting. You will assess patients, administer medications, monitor progress and document EMR entries.

You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to coordinate patient care, educate patients and families, and respond to emergencies while maintaining infection control and safety standards. The position requires SC RN license, 1+ year recent experience, and BLS certification, with benefits including

Qualifications

• South Carolina RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience within the last 3 years.
• Current BLS certification.
• N95 fit test and TB testing/immunizations.
• PSV documentation if required by licensing board.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Perform wound care and IV therapy within scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate EMR records and ensure infection control compliance.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.
