Job summary

GEO Corrections & Detentions in Moore Haven, Florida, is seeking an individual to manage recreation activities and coach athletic teams. Qualifications

• High school diploma required; degree in Physical Education or Recreational Therapy is highly desirable.
• Experience working with inmate populations or in physical education is an asset.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize recreational activities.
• Coach all athletic teams.
• Organize and oversee all competitions and tournaments.
• Ensure the proper use of recreational equipment by detainees.
• Inspect recreation area for cleanliness and safety.
• Provide weekly safety training to recreation staff.
• Check detainees in and out of the gym.
• Maintain recreation department records.
• Schedule the repair of recreation equipment.
