Job summary

The Bureau of Prisons / Federal Prison System is seeking corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

To qualify you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, with knowledge of correctional techniques and proven ability to supervise and manage programs within a correctional setting. Education cannot substitute this experience.

Qualifications

• Education cannot substitute for specialized experience.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.
• Experience in correctional programs and in dealing with inmates and staff in a correctional environment.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise or administer a program and direct staff.
• Credit may be given for paid or unpaid experience with actual time spent on activities.
• Eligibility based on responses to the agency questions.
