Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• P.O.S.T. standards knowledge or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enforces all institutional policies, rules, procedures, and regulations.
• Ensures safety and public protection through compliance with laws.
• Escort offenders during transit and leaves.
• Screen visitors at facility entrances.
• Train and handle canines for tracking and detection.
• Maintain inventories of keys, tools, weapons, and equipment.
• Monitor order and security in assigned areas.
• Observe offender conduct to prevent disturbances.
• Oversee offenders during meals, work, and recreation.
• Patrol assigned areas and report issues.
• Prepare admissions, programs, releases, transfers and other reports.
• Respond to emergencies and transport offenders as needed.
