Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains security within the institution and oversees the health and safety of staff and prisoners.
• Patrols and inspects units, yards, buildings, and prisoner areas for welfare, safety, and security.
• Prevents prisoner escape and conducts searches for contraband.
• Investigates unusual circumstances and reports to the Command Sergeant.
• Books and processes new inmates, including fingerprinting and photographing inmates.
• Manages inmate movement, housing, meals, boards, and rosters during shifts.
• Utilizes various computer software and systems (Jail Pak, Gmail, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, camera systems, jail view).
• Interacts with a wide range of groups including police, public agencies, and court personnel.
