Job summary

Calumet County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a custody supervisor for the Calumet County Correctional Facility. The role involves maintaining a safe environment, supervising inmates, and ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.

The position requires strong communication, incident response, and record-keeping skills, with duties extending to medical coordination, housing, and transportation support as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school with some coursework in police science, criminal justice, or related field.
• Two to three years of civil or military law enforcement work or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inmates and maintain safety and security of the jail facility.
• Process inmate intake, searches, and releases with accurate record-keeping.
• Monitor security through rounds, inspections, and surveillance equipment.
• Coordinate visits, manage inmate counts, and respond to emergencies per policy.
• Assist with food service operations and supervise inmate workers.
